Jaromir Jagr was born in 1972 in Kladno, Czechoslovakia. He stands 6 foot 2, and weights 240 lbs. Jagr was the first Czechoslovakian player to attend an NHL draft without having to defect. He was chosen in the 1990 draft BEHIND Owen Nolan, Petr Nedved, Keith Primeau and Mike Ricci.
He scored the most points ever by a right-winger with 149 points. He also is the highest scoring European in a single season. He holds the record for most assists by a rookie in the Stanley Cup Finals and was the youngest player to ever score a hat trick (he was 18).
He has won two Stanley cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins (1991 & 1992). He has also won the Hart trophy as the league MVP in 1999 and the Lester B. Pearson Award in 1999 and 2000 as the most outstanding player (selected by the members of the NHL Players' Association). He also won the Art Ross Trophy for leading the League in points five times (1995 and 1998-2001).
