Brett Favre (1969- ) was born in Mississippi. He is a tough, uncompromising quarterback whose leadership and superior play have led Green Bay to two straight Super Bowls. He is pro football's most successful quarterback. In 1997, he became the National Football League's first three-time Most Valuable Player, winning the award for three straight years. In addition to his record-breaking performances on the field, Favre is famous for his youth-oriented community service, including the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation he started in 1996.
In 2001 Favre re-signed with the Green Bay Packers to a lifetime contract. It means that, as long as the 31 year-old Mississippian will be leading the charge, creating magic on the run and putting fear into the hearts of opposing defenses, he'll be doing it while wearing the Packer green and gold.
